During the secondment of ESR7, the numerical analysis of turbulent flow field around an isolated cylinder has been initiated. A Navier-Stokes solver based on LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) developed at University of Trieste has been used. Static sub-grid scale modelling has been performed to solve the flow field around a cylinder mounted on a fixed bed in an open channel with and without suspended sediment concentration.
